New Boston

This past weekend was Addison's first time to stay with my parents overnight without us. Of course before we left, Addison had a doctor's appointment on Friday to check out her runny because I wanted to make sure she had meds if she was sick before we left her with my parents. Jordan takes her to her appointment and calls me to tell me that she has strep throat again and allergies. Wow. We packed up the car on Friday afternoon and headed to New Boston. We hadn't been back to New Boston since Christmas, so I was super excited to see my family. Jordan and I stayed till Sunday and then packed up and came back to Dallas. Addison stayed with my mom and dad until Tuesday. According to my mom, she had a really good time. I'll let you decide from the pictures.

Constantly on the go

Addison is constantly on the go, so it's hard to get a picture of her without it being blurry because of movement. I haven't been very good at posting pictures lately, and I've decided that I've got to do a better job. My family deserves it. Thank goodness for Skype and the blog, because my family wouldn't believe how fast Addison has grown without proof.

Addison is walking/cruising everywhere. Thanks to her Aunt Mandy, Uncle TW, and cousin William she has a great walker (baby stroller). We put a baby doll in it and she pushes it around the living room. Her favorite thing to do is press the music button on the bear's belly. She grins (like the photo) every time she hears it.

I call this her "granny without teeth smile"

"See my 2 teeth?"

It was so nice one weekend, I rolled her high chair onto the back porch for snack time.
So who's going to get a piece of food first? Addison or Buddy? This is a normal occurence

Colorado

Last week, Jordan and I got away for a little vacation. We had a great time. We both looked at pictures of Addison on our iPhones every day. We missed our baby girl, but it was nice to have some adult time. Thanks Mom for healing Addison and comforting her with her hives while we were gone. I think you and Addison were able to reconnect with that special bond that you got when you were at the house the first week she was born.

It's crazy to think that we left snow for more snow. Usually you leave Texas to go see snow.

Snow in Texas

I know the pictures aren't in order of dates, but my thought is that at least I got them up on the blog.

We had snow in Texas again. Wow. Unfortunately Addison didn't get to play in the snow, because she was getting over her strep throat.

Crawling Everywhere

Miss Addison is crawling e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e. She thinks she is just so cute crawling away as I call her name. She'll start crawling and look back to see if I'm watching her and then smile.

Strep Throat to Hives

Last week Addison was diagnosed with strep throat, so the doctor gave us Amoxicillin to take twice a day. So we have been giving it to her religiously. Then yesterday morning when I went to go get Addison out of bed she had a little rash on her body. She had had a similar rash before and when we took her to the doctor, she told us she could be allergic to something or teething. So I told Jordan and we needed to watch it throughout the day to see if it gets worse. Well I got home after work and it had gotten worse. We called family and a PA friend that we have. The PA told us to come over to their house so she could look at her. She told us it was hives and to stop giving her Amoxicillin and start giving her Benadryl. We gave her Benadryl last night and during the middle of the night. At 2:00a I was so worried, it was getting bad.

Jordan and I packed her up this morning and headed to the pediatrician's office. They said that she was allergic to Penicillin, which is in the Amoxicillin. We have to give her 3/4 tsp every 6 hours and a new antibiotic for her strep throat. Wow. My heart was breaking last night and this morning. Addison is so helpless and I can't make it go away.

Before you scroll any further, I posted pictures of her hives. It's pretty bad, so scroll with caution.

Flu, 50th Birthday

So the last 5 days in the Griffin household have been so tons of fun, let me tell ya. I've been sick since Wednesday last week with the flu. I haven't been sick in so long, so I forgot how much it really does suck (especially with a little one). I slept for hours and hours. Poor Jordan kept up with Addison while I slept. Thanks babe for your dedication. Through sickness and health, right?

Since I was sick all weekend, we missed my Dad's 50th Birthday party. Sorry Dad! We really wanted to be there. I hope you enjoyed your birthday! I put together a slide show of my dad for the party, and I thought I'd share a picture of him with everyone. I just love it. Love you Dad and may all your birthday wishes come true!
