Birthday Tutu

Yeah, Addison 1st Birthday tutu for her pictures came in the mail. I'm so excited. I also go her a onesie with the #1 on it and a headband/flower to match. I sure hope these pictures turn out as well as I would like them. (Kellie, we may be calling you - kddiditphotography.com).

Addison & Buddy

Lately, Addison has been very intrigued by Buddy. So the other night Buddy had his ball close by and she decided to grab it. (Yuck! I tell myself we're building her immune system. ) So let the fun begin.

9 Months

So this past Tuesday, we took Miss Addison to go get her 9 month well checkup. As we were undressing her and getting her ready to be measured, my mind started to think back to when she had her first visit. How much she has changed in 9 months. I can't believe our baby girl is already 9 months old. I want her to be little again, but then I also enjoy hearing her laugh and watching her look at the world with some much curiosity. What a blessing she has been to our
lives and our family's. So here's what Addison's been up to lately:
  • 19.2 lbs (50%)
  • 28 1/4 length (75%)
  • 17 1/4 head (50%)
  • Pulling up on everything
  • Loves to walk with you holding her hands
  • Standing up in her crib and chewing on the railing (we fixed that)
  • Read books
  • Listening to her CD player (she'll crawl from the living room into her room to go play it)
  • Eating more table food
  • Still one tooth
  • Says Dada, sort of
  • Grunts when she wants something (working on fixing that)
  • Doesn't like to be left alone in a room
  • Loves to be thrown up in the air

Easter Basket

I got Addison the bunny one with her name on the back

So yesterday I went to Carters to look around and see if I saw anything on sale for Addison, and I noticed they had stuff out for Easter. That got my mind going. Addison's going to need an Easter basket, etc. I know that Pottery Barn Kids usually has some really cute Easter baskets and I had a gift card that I could use. I love to get stuff for free.

Addison officially will have her first Easter basket. It should be really fun to watch her toddle around and pick up eggs that are scattered in the grass right in front of her.

Addison's B Day Party

So I know it's kind of early, but I'm already super excited about Addison's 1st Birthday. Her birthday is April 23rd, so we've set a date for Saturday, April 24th. Jordan and I decided to just invite family this year and do friends in the years to come. I decided on a theme about a month ago when I was in Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby has these huge pinwheels, and when I saw them I just knew.

So today I ordered her invitations from Shutterfly. They are cute and simple and go perfectly with the theme. I've got tons of ideas from the website thepartydress.net. I'll definitely will have to take tons of pictures when the day comes.

Baby Doll

Jordan left Sunday to go to Virginia for work all week, so Addison and I went to Target to get out of the house. I decided to take her to the toy section. Wow, she just kept looking at all of the toys and talking. She was so excited. We went down the baby doll isle. I've been wanting to get her a baby doll for a while now, so I thought I'd see what her reaction was. As we're going down the isle, some babies start making cooing noises. Addison was so enthralled. She starting cooing back. It was hilarious. So I decided to get a baby doll, not one that talks (believe me, we have enough toys that talk right now). We got home and I gave the doll to her and Addison talked to it for a little while and then stuck the baby's hands in her mouth. It's a start.

Doug & Katie's Wedding

Katie, Jordan's only sister got married this past Saturday. It was a wondrous occasion, but we are all glad that it's over. Jordan and I were both in the wedding, so my parents came to Dallas to keep Addison occupied during the wedding. Thanks Mom and Dad. We are very grateful for your assistance. We couldn't have done it without you.

Growing Up

I haven't been very good at keeping everyone updated on the advancements/changes that have been occurring with Addison lately. Of course, I couldn't post something without pictures so I included some.

Changes in Addison's life:
- First tooth (bottom right)
- Crawling (army style) everywhere
- First ear infection last week
- Talking, talking, talking
- Getting hair
- Grabbing for everything
- Clingy to either Jordan or me
- Pulling up
- Taking a bath like a big girl, of course with lots of toys
- Grunts as though to throw a mini fit, but we're working on correcting that
- Wearing 9 month clothes, 12 month sleepers
- Going to sleep on her own (loving this)
- Sitting up and pulling up in her bed, therefore we had to lower it. Will have to lower some more very soon

I could go on and on, but I'll leave some for when she turns 9 months. We go for her checkup next Tuesday, so we'll see how much she's progressing. Our little girl is growing up so fast. It's times with her that you want time to stop or just slow down a bit.

Happy Child

Her favorite thing to do right now is stick out her tongue while you bounce her in your lap, over and over and over. She never gets tired of bouncing, but Momma's arms do.

She's into trying new food. She wants to eat everything we eat. I don't how much longer we'll be feeding her baby food.

I know I'm biased, but I think Addison is a very happy, good natured child. Believe me, she has her moments but overall she's happy. I just wanted to share some pictures with the family to show her little personality and how much she has grown. It's hard to believe that in 3 1/2 months she'll be 1. Where does time go?

"Coach" and G's Christmas

After we opened presents from Santa, we packed up the car and headed over to Jordan's parents in Sunnyvale ("Coach" and G). We were not very good at taking pictures while we were there. I only have one that really was any good. Sorry. We'll do much better in 2010.

Christmas 2009

Christmas 2009 really has meant more to our family this year with Addison her to help us celebrate. Jordan and I were discussing how blessed we were and started thinking about how Mary felt when Jesus was born. We realized that we were able to feel the warmth in our hearts that way that she might have felt with Jesus' birth as we had with Addison. A child is so precious! Thank you God for giving us your son Jesus Christ.

Well Addison was very good this year, so Santa brought her a few gifts. We were so excited to be able to share Christmas with Addison this year. Everyone tells me that future Christmas' will be much more fun, but we had a great time this year. We decided to get Addison her first little red wagon. She was very curious as to what it was. We pulled her around the house and she held on tight to the sides. We stood her up in it, and she started clapping so we assume that she liked it. She also go some tutu pajamas.
