Howell Family Christmas

After we had Christmas at my parents, we headed up the road to my grandparents house to begin the Howell Family Christmas. I don't know how Addison survived, because there were 5 boys there and she was the only girl. The cousins really enjoyed playing with her. This was her first true test of a lot of people and noise. She did pretty well.

We started off the morning with a bow but that didn't last 5 minutes

The day was beautiful, so we took Addison outside. My aunt and uncle have a large piece of property with animals everywhere, so she really enjoyed it. She saw pine trees for the first time.

Christmas at My Parents

We started our Christmas celebrations at my parents' house in New Boston. The morning began with a home cooked breakfast (yummy, my favorite meal of the day) and then onto the opening of gifts. It was so fun to watch Addison and William open gifts. William was a hoot. I can't wait till Addison gets that excited about her gifts. Until then, we'll continue to love eating wrapping paper. Thank you Mom and Dad for everything.

William received a lot of John Deere tractor gifts, which he loved. He can now do things by himself like Grandaddy.

Hockey Game

Jordan, Addison, Katie, Doug, and myself went to watch the Allen Americans Hockey Team (semi-pro) last Friday. The Allen center was really nice, however I wouldn't buy a pretzel. haha. We had a great time. Addison got to hang out with her Aunt and soon to be Uncle while watching her first hockey game. We knew it would be cold, so we made sure to bundle her up. Her little nose was so cute. It was red on the tip from being cold. She really enjoyed all the lights and people. There was a little girl next to us, so she thought it was fun to watch her. I was so glad that we got out of the house and got to show Addison a new thing. This is just the beginning of new things.

Thanks Dan!

Snow in Texas???

Can you believe it, snow in Texas in December? It didn't last long, but we'll take it. Addison got to see her first snow. She had just gotten up, so we ran and got the camera to capture the moment. She just kept looking at it and smiling. I think she kind of liked it. It was a little too cold, so we just opened the back door and took a picture.
My mom also came in this weekend to see Addison and babysit for us. I had a company Christmas party on Saturday night and chores all day, so my mom babysat Addison while I got a lot done. It was so nice to have some "me" time. Not trying to be selfish, but sometimes you just need it. I felt like I didn't see Addison all weekend, so that was a bummer. So a BIG THANKS to my mom for doing that for us! Addison loves her MeeMaw.

Catching Up

I've taken pictures over the past few weeks but haven't posted them. Therefore, you get a collection of various photos.

I turned my back for a few seconds and this is what I found

Visit from Meemaw

MeeMaw, Addison, and me
Geared up to do some Christmas shopping-no time to get snazzy

Looking more and more like her Daddy every day

The spinner toy has become one of her favorites.
She pushes that button over and over and over.

My mom (Meemaw) came in this weekend to see Addison and go to Katie's (sister in-law) wedding shower. She was amazed at how much she has grown and how active she is. Addison hit the 6 month mark and she started discovering the world. She's starting to catch on very fast. It's hard to believe that she'll be 7 months next week.

Thanks Mom for letting us sleep in and taking care of her in the mornings. I feel rejuvenated again.

Hair

I just had to post this! Our child is finally growing hair!

Getting Ready for Christmas

You like the sweet potatoes on her cheek? Sweet touch?

Random picture - waiting for me to get her bath ready

Addison's Christmas dress finally came in the mail. It's a simple sweater dress, but what made me fall in love with it was the hat. It's so darn cute on her and you just smiles any time you ask her if she's a pretty girl with her hat on. Thought I would take some photos to see what it would look like on. Of course when we were trying it on she decided to spit up on it. I think it's becoming a theme (she did that with her dedication dress).

Sitting Up

Addison has really started sitting up a lot on her on within the past week. It's like she knew she turned 6 months old and it was time for her to be a big girl.

Sweet Taters

Addison likes to help feed herself and attempt to wipe her mouth with her bib

Now that we have moved on to baby food, we have discovered that Addison's favorite food is sweet potatoes. She loves them. She's a fan of veggies, but not fruits. Weird girl. Hopefully she'll acquire the taste of fruits soon.

Jogging Stroller

I just had to post this. It's my early Christmas present. I told Jordan that I really would like a jogging stroller for Christmas, because our other stroller has small wheels and not very convenient for strolling around the neighborhood. With that being said, of course he was on a mission. To you all that know him, that means he's going to find one NOW and CHEAP (lol). Both of us have been watching CraigsList for about 2 weeks now. Yesterday I saw a stroller that I had researched about and knew that it was good for what I wanted. He called the lady and well, I have a jogging stroller. Yipee!!!! I really think that Addison and I will both enjoy it. Every time I go pick her up from Sunday school they have her out in the hallway strolling her for entertainment. So thanks babe for the stroller and get ready for some fun rides Miss Addy!!! I love you honey!

Doesn't it look almost brand new?

6 Months

Last Friday Addison was 6 months old. Wow, how time flies. It's amazing to see how much she has changed in such a short period of time. She has been a blessing to our lives from the very beginning. I cannot imagine our lives without her now. She makes us laugh like little kids and look at each other in amazement.

Today, I took her to her 6 month checkup (Jordan had a conference call). She did awesome. She thought the paper on the patient's table was so neat to play with. Christmas and wrapping paper are going to go hand and hand with her. Forget the toys. Below are her stats from the visit.

Weight: 17.8 lbs (75% percentile)
Length: 26 3/4" (75% percentile)
Head: 16.5 (25% percentile)

She's starting doing so many things. I came home the other day and looked at her then looked at Jordan and told him that I think she grew while I was at work for the day. She does the following:

- Rolls everywhere
- Puts everything in her mouth
- Starting to make m and b sounds
- Follows Mommy & Daddy's voices around the room
- Eats Stage 1 baby food (loves sweet potatoes)
- Loves to stand up and hold on to things
- Smiles every time one of her toys that makes noise plays
- Starting to teeth (bottom gums are swollen)

I could go on and on, but you get the hint....she's advancing right along. Thank God for a healthy, loving baby girl!!!

G got her some new sunglasses this weekend

Addison had her first Halloween party. What a hoot! It was so much fun! I think I lost 100 calories from laughing at all the little kids. Addison decided (or I really did) to go as a Fairy. She was so cute. We had the wings on before the party, but they didn't quite make it to the party. She did really well. She kept playing with her skirt. I'm glad she liked it, because she'll be able to play dress up in it when she gets older.

Thanks Mrs. Ashley and Miss Kate for inviting us to your Halloween party.

Texas - OU Weekend

The wind of blowing, so Dad kept her warm
Addison all bundled up

As most of you know, Jordan is a huge Texas fan. Believe me, if you want to know a stat or who's who among Texas football he's the one to go to. Deep down I know Jordan would love for Addison to go to Texas for school, but not take on their liberal beliefs. With that being said, he decided to take Addison to watch the Texas band practice Friday afternoon at Richardson High School. So she got dressed up in her Longhorn sweat suit (thanks Virginia) and off they went. (I joined them later). I think she enjoyed it. She was very observant and was looking around at the flag girls and all of the people in the stands. I guess we'll just have to see what the future holds, but Jordan is trying to get his bluff in early.

We're trying to figure out what outfit to put her in for Christmas card pictures
