Back to Work

Just another smile for the camera. It's harder to get a smile on camera these days, because she focuses so hard on the camera once she sees it that she gets distracted from me trying to get her to smile.

Buddy, the dog has done awesome with Addison. His favorite thing to do with her is bring his toys and put them either on her or beside her to play with him. One day she'll want to play with him and he'll get mad with her grabbing his tail or ears.

We've been working on Addison's tummy time, so her neck muscles will get stronger. On Sunday, she lifted her head and held it consistently like the picture. It was so cute to see her body shake and she worked so hard to keep it up and higher each time. She really wanted to get that butterfly but couldn't figure out how to get there. You could tell she was getting mad after a while.

I took this picture while I was in the kitchen cooking dinner. I put her in her chair to watch me in the kitchen, and I guess she's just not interested in cooking yet. She feel asleep.

Thought I would try to get a post written today before I go back to work tomorrow. Ugghh. I kept trying to put this day behind me, but it has finally come. I do believe this is going to be one of the hardest days of my life. I will be taking the makeup bag with me tomorrow to work, so I can touch up in the morning. It's going to be really hard for me not to talk, laugh, smile, and rock with her throughout the day. I don't want to miss her first words, crawling, walking but reality is here. Being with her for 10 weeks has been the light of my life. My love and bond with her has been so fun to watch grow. She is definitely my pride and joy. I love you baby girl!

Putting Addison to sleep (sometimes a chore)

Yesterday, we took Addison to her 2 month checkup to see how she is progressing. She has changed tremendously. I'll tell you her #s at 2 weeks and then at 2 months, so you can see the change.

Weight: 8 lbs 10.5 oz (50-75%) to 12 lbs 6.5 oz (90%) - hasn't missed a meal
Length: 21" (75-90%) to 23" (75%)
Head: 13 7/8" (25-50%) to 15 1/4 (45-50%)

Needless to say, she has grown and is a healthy baby girl. She also go her first round of vaccinations. Our nurse was very quick to give them to her, so she screamed for about 30 seconds and calmed down. I think her legs were sore the rest of the day though, because she would whimper if I pushed on them. She did a great job at the doctor's office. We are so excited that everything looks great and there aren't any concerns. Thank God!

As far as at home, I've really noticed how she is talking and interacting with Jordan and me. She'll lay in the floor with us and just coo until we stop talking to her. She'll smile (especially in the morning or just waking up). She is so much fun to be around and will only continue to get more exciting. This morning, I noticed that she's starting to notice her hands and that they're actually attached to her body and she can control them. Also, another big milestone is that she's sleeping about 5 1/2-6 hours at night without waking up. Yipee!!!! The doctor said she should be sleeping 8-10 hours at night around 3 months, so Jordan and I are patiently waiting for that momentous occasion. It's amazing to see how much she has grown and changed in such a short period of time.

FYI: I go back to work on the 1st, so I may not be as good at getting post put up, but I'm going to try my best. Everyone pray for me when I go back, because it's going to be so hard. I think I may take my makeup with me to work the first few days, so I can touch it up when I get there. lol

Happy 1st Father's Day

Addison and Dad getting their drink on

Here's her onesie for Dad

Dad and Addison watching TV

Just had to put this one on here - too cute

Jordan had his 1st Father's Day yesterday. We had a great day spending it with family. The morning yesterday started off with Addison getting a bath and then me putting her in her "Father's Day" outfit. I found a shirt that said I love Daddy, so we put that on her before Jordan got up. He was so excited when he noticed what it said.

We had Jordan's family over for lunch. Jordan got some clothes and an O'Reilly's door mat (no pin-heads) from Addison and me. We spent the rest of the day with Addison and just resting.

Happy Father's Day Dad!

Tomorrow we go to the doctor to get her 2 month checkup and shots. We'll see how strong I am while she's getting her shots.

Swimming Pool

"I love to stretch"
(Virginia-notice that Pooh is on the outfit?)

Laying out at the pool, enjoying the breeze

We took Addison to the neighborhood pool yesterday. She got to wear her swimsuit that her Aunt Deborah got her. It's adorable. I didn't get a very good picture of it, so I'll try to get a better when we go next time. It's a tankini that has roses and ruffles on it.

Addison did really well. We put her under the shaded pavillion area and close to the water fall in the kiddie pool so the mist would hit her and kind of keep her cool. The breeze was blowing, so she kept her eyes closed most of the time. We're looking forward to getting to see her play in the water once she's old enough.

George Strait

Mom and Dad's Night Out

"King George" on the jumbotron

Reba singing Fancy (the entire stadium sang the song)

Jordan, Michael (you're on here), Ed

Cowboy Stadium

Jordan and I got the privelage of getting out of the house for 24 hours to go to the George Strait concert on Saturday. We had a blast. "King George" was awesome along with Reba. It was great to see the stadium. It's amazing, and we now know why it cost so much. The jumbo screens were JUMBO. It doesn't matter where you sit, you'll feel like you're on the front row.

A BIG THANKS to MeeMaw (my mom) for keeping Addison while we were away. I'm pretty sure that Addison was held the majority of the time by her MeeMaw (I would have done the same thing Mom).

6 Weeks Old

Bath Time

Napping in the floor

"I love to sit in my boppy and look around"

Addison was 6 weeks old yesterday. Looking back at pictures over the past few weeks, it's amazing to see how much she has changed and grown. She is starting to grin (randomly) and coo. She gets really excited when she hits toys on her jungle gym on the floor. She really focuses on people and things (fan, especially) now. If someone is talking to her, you definitely have her undivided attention. It's really cute when Jordan comes home or comes in the room, she looks around to find his voice.

She is such a blessing to our family, and we are so excited that everything is going well and that she is a healthy baby girl.

I Love My Swing

JJ, a friend of ours from church, came over and took some pictures of Addison when she was about 2 1/2 weeks old. I haven't posted her pictures yet, because I lost the email that she sent to me with the album on it. I have since recovered it and can post them. She did a great job, considering Addison was asleep when she got here and was about to wake up ready to eat. Thank you JJ for capturing our baby girl for us.

First Road Trip

Grandaddy and Addison

Meemaw, Addison, and PawPaw (great grandfather)
William (cousin) and Addison

Addison at Nana's (great, great grandfather)

This past weekend, the family took a quick weekend trip to see my family in New Boston. Friday afternoon we packed the car (you would have thought we had 10 people in our family) with all of our things. My checklist of things we need to take has now grown. We had a great time and enjoyed getting to see everyone. Addison did really well traveling. She slept all the way there and all the way back. I could tell though that she was ready to get home and knew she wasn't at her home. She was kind of fussy at times. Hopefully that stage will fade away with time.
