6 Months

Last Friday Addison was 6 months old. Wow, how time flies. It's amazing to see how much she has changed in such a short period of time. She has been a blessing to our lives from the very beginning. I cannot imagine our lives without her now. She makes us laugh like little kids and look at each other in amazement.

Today, I took her to her 6 month checkup (Jordan had a conference call). She did awesome. She thought the paper on the patient's table was so neat to play with. Christmas and wrapping paper are going to go hand and hand with her. Forget the toys. Below are her stats from the visit.

Weight: 17.8 lbs (75% percentile)
Length: 26 3/4" (75% percentile)
Head: 16.5 (25% percentile)

She's starting doing so many things. I came home the other day and looked at her then looked at Jordan and told him that I think she grew while I was at work for the day. She does the following:

- Rolls everywhere
- Puts everything in her mouth
- Starting to make m and b sounds
- Follows Mommy & Daddy's voices around the room
- Eats Stage 1 baby food (loves sweet potatoes)
- Loves to stand up and hold on to things
- Smiles every time one of her toys that makes noise plays
- Starting to teeth (bottom gums are swollen)

I could go on and on, but you get the hint....she's advancing right along. Thank God for a healthy, loving baby girl!!!

G got her some new sunglasses this weekend

Addison had her first Halloween party. What a hoot! It was so much fun! I think I lost 100 calories from laughing at all the little kids. Addison decided (or I really did) to go as a Fairy. She was so cute. We had the wings on before the party, but they didn't quite make it to the party. She did really well. She kept playing with her skirt. I'm glad she liked it, because she'll be able to play dress up in it when she gets older.

Thanks Mrs. Ashley and Miss Kate for inviting us to your Halloween party.

Texas - OU Weekend

The wind of blowing, so Dad kept her warm
Addison all bundled up

As most of you know, Jordan is a huge Texas fan. Believe me, if you want to know a stat or who's who among Texas football he's the one to go to. Deep down I know Jordan would love for Addison to go to Texas for school, but not take on their liberal beliefs. With that being said, he decided to take Addison to watch the Texas band practice Friday afternoon at Richardson High School. So she got dressed up in her Longhorn sweat suit (thanks Virginia) and off they went. (I joined them later). I think she enjoyed it. She was very observant and was looking around at the flag girls and all of the people in the stands. I guess we'll just have to see what the future holds, but Jordan is trying to get his bluff in early.

Baby Dedication

On Sunday, we had Addison's baby dedication. What an amazing time in Addison's life. It makes Jordan and I so proud to present her to the Lord and know that she is a gift from God. Addison's life will be surrounded by a family of strong Christian believers, and I could not ask for anything more. She has so much to learn, and it is our jobs as parents to show them through God's eyes.

She was so good the entire time. She looked so cute all dressed up from head to toe. She had her little tights on with her satin bow shoes and pearls. She had every little detail taken care of, even though she didn't have a clue. There will be more pictures to come as soon as I can get a hold of my mom's camera, but here's what I had on mine. We've got to get better at getting pictures with the entire family. All we have to do is slow down. One day, huh?

Dallas Arboretum

On Saturday, we took Addison to the Dallas Arboretum to see the pumpkins. My mom and dad came along, so Addison got to spend the entire weekend with my folks. I was so excited, because I just knew I would be able to get some really good pictures of Addison and the pumpkins. Boy was I wrong. Addison usually takes a morning nap at the time we went, so she wasn't really into the pumpkins like I had hoped. I was happy that she didn't cry or get upset, but there wasn't a lot of pep in her step (lol).

Lively little thing

Addison and Dad hanging out in the recliner
"Good Morning Sunshine"
Addison is practicing for the next Dirty Dancing movie (most of you will remember the scene from the lake)
Addison just loves talking to her "friends"
She has a full conversation, but it seems to be one sided

We have really noticed that Addison is starting to pick up on things and want to do what you're doing. It's hilarious. She's really into talking (baby talk) and rolling everywhere. If she wants to get something on the other side of the quilt, she will make her way over there.

She is the light of our lives!
