And the winner is.....

Addison Lea Griffin

Our little girl's name has been declared. Yipee! Both of us are so excited that we have finally reached an agreement. Before we knew if it was a boy or girl, we had come up with a boy's name but no girl's name. So when we found out that we would be blessed with a precious little girl, we were on the hunt for a name. It's taken us about 2 months. We would both come up with a name, but the other would just cringe when they heard it.

Addison is not a family name. It's just one we liked. The middle name Lea, comes from my middle name and my aunt Shannon's. According to the internet, the name Addison means "Son of Adam." Needless to say, we didn't choose it because of the meaning.

Yesterday was my dad's birthday, so he got a great gift we announced to him that her name would be Addison Lea. He has been waiting on this name as long as my great grandmother has. They both have been on the edge of their seats waiting to get an answer. So with that, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!

Thanks to everyone that gave us tons of suggestions for names for our little girl. She definitely has tons of people out there that love her!

Just as a side note, wanted to let everyone know that we'll be going to make the doctor rounds on Monday. I have all three doctor's appointments on Monday, so I'll post the latest news on how everything is going. We'll scheduled to get a 3D sonogram of Addison, so we'll get to see a few of her features.

More pics...

I added some more items to the nursery to pull it all together. Jordan and I found a rug at Target that works perfectly with the theme of the room. I was so excited to find such a perfect match. Along with the rug, I added a table skirt to the little table by the chair. I'm going to work on a few items that will add a little bit of the personal touch (picture frame, crib skirt, etc.). I will post the final pictures as soon as I get it all together. It may be the end of March or so, but I promise to post it for everyone to see.

As you can tell, Jordan got his TV in the room. He promised that if he got a tv in the room and a robe to wear in the middle of the night, he would help with feedings at night. Yipee!!! We'll see how that goes.

Baby Griffin's Room

This past weekend, my parents came into town to help Jordan and I with Baby Griffin's room.   They spent all day Saturday and Sunday working on the room and didn't complain at all.  I am so grateful to have their help.  I think my parents were just excited to work on a girl's room and not a boy's.  If those that helped read this, THANK YOU VERY MUCH from the bottom of my heart and belly.  I know she'll love it, and we'll make many memories in there.

I have taken a few pictures, but I don't really know how well you'll be able to tell what the room looks like.  The room is painted a Tiffany blue.  The color scheme therefore is Tiffany blue and brown.  I know the room is painted blue like a boy's room, but I feel in love with the curtains and had to have them for her.  I've still got to put a few items in the room to finish it off, but you can get the big picture.  If you ever want to come by and see it, just call me.

Christmas 2008

These are a little late, but it's better late than never.  Jordan and I had a great Christmas with all of the family.  We did a lot of traveling which kind of wore me out, but it was definitely worth it.  It's during the holidays that you especially realize how blessed you are to have such wonderful family surround you and support you throughout the year.  We noticed this year that we are getting older and Christmas is not all about gifts for us.  Many of our gifts pertained to Baby Griffin coming along, which we appreciate.  We can get a head start on things for her.  Baby Griffin will not lack on things that she wants or needs.

Nursery and.....

This weekend, my parents are coming to our house to help us start painting Baby Griffin's nursery (no name yet).  I'm so excited.  I feel like I've been working on getting it all together forever, so it'll be great to put everything together and see if the concept in my mind matches what comes out.  You should have seen me on Sunday.  I bought two canvases to paint a pattern on them to match the curtains.  Wow, that was interesting.  I think I did pretty well, but we'll see how it looks once up.  I have to say though, that painting is definitely a stress reliever.

I'll make sure to take pictures of it this weekend to post.  It won't be totally done, but you'll be able to get the idea.

North Texas Food Bank

I know the perception of the car business is that it's terrible and everyone is out to get you, but I want to brag where I work.  I decided that we should do something great for the community and give back when the economy is not doing well.  So I did a Food Bank drive with our employees.  I had spoken with the NTFB about the drive and they requested money instead of canned food, because they could buy more with the cash than we could.  With that information in hand, I went to work and boy did our employees step up.  We were able to write a check to the NTFB in the amount of $1700!

23 Weeks

The past two weeks have been full of doctors appointments (which are going to be the norm).  I thought I'd give an update as to how the pregnancy is going.

Last week consisted of the OB and Endocronologist.  The OB said that everything is measuring fine and that on the next visit we would start discussing pre-term labor and get a plan together. The endo visit went just as well.  My A1C count was 5.9.  Yipee!  They were very excited about that.  We made a few adjustments to my insulin but for the most part, it stayed the same.   She said that I would start making more changes once I hit the 26-38 week point.

This Monday we went to get another sonogram to make sure that she's growing and everything looks healthy.  He said that she looks great.  She weighs 1 lb 5 ounces.  She opened her mouth a few times while we were looking at her.  She was very active and moved around the entire time.
We go back again to all of the doctors on February 2nd, so I'll give everyone an update.  We're actually going to have a 3D sonogram done, so we'll be able to see her little features.  The big question is....who's nose will she have?

It's amazing how time has flown by.  As every woman has told me, it's the last 3 months that are the hardest.  I'll continue to say a little prayer and keep a smile on my face.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support and prayers.
