While we are changing Addison on the changing table in her room, we sometimes turn on the hair dryer that is on her dresser. The sound and vibration on the pad really relax her (can you tell by the pic?). It'll even put her to sleep. If you're wondering why we have a hair dryer in her room.....she had a diaper rash the few weeks, so we used it to dry her out. Oh, how we love the hair dryer.
We had a few people over to the house to celebrate Memorial Day and watch the Rangers game. Of course, Addison had to get dressed up for our guests.

1 Month Old
"Put your dukes up"
Today our baby girl is one month old. Wow! Time flies when you're having fun. She is an amazing baby. She cries only when she's hungry, needs to be changed, or sleepy. If you've held a few babies before, you know that some move around a lot and won't sit still and others are very calm. Well, we've got a squirmer on our hands. She doesn't sit still at all, unless she's sound asleep. Even then, she moves and makes tons of noises in her sleep.
We are still fighting the eczema on her face, but I think it's calming down each day. It's amazing how it almost disappears at night and during the day it reappears. I must stress her out during the day (lol). She's doing great with the formula feeding. She's starting to really focus on objects other than people's faces. She's constantly holding her head up. She's doing great!
Happy Memorial Day to everyone! May we remember those that have fought for our freedoms. God bless America!

Family Photos (4 weeks old today)
We had a photographer come to the house about a week and half ago to take some newborn pictures of Addison. Steve with Poetic Exposure came over for a hour and took pictures of Addison and the family. I am so excited about them. There are pictures in the slide show and also the photo gallery that he sent us that already capture her facial expressions and personality.
Check out this slideshow: "Addison Lea" at http://www.poeticexposure.com/addisonlea/
Here is the link to the photo gallery. To family that reads this, I can get whatever prints you want just let us know. http://www.poeticexposure.com/addisonlea/bw

First Play Date
Our friends down the street, Keith and Ashley just had a little girl the day before Addison. Kate is just the cutest little thing. She wasn't supposed to be delivered until May 4th, but she decided to come a little early. While we were in the hospital with Addison, we were 2 doors down from Keith and Ashley. We snapped a few photos of the two of them together. I'm sure there will be more pictures to come of the two of them. We'll have to make sure not to schedule birthday parties at the same time. lol
Yesterday, Jordan and I took Addison down to our friends house down the street. Addison had her first play date with her friend Kate. They did what most friends do: eat, sleep, and poop. lol. It was so cute to see how they had similar sounds and gestures while they were sleeping.

3 Weeks Old
Our baby girl is already 3 weeks old (5/14). The time has gone by so fast and she has changed so much. I was watching the Baby Story on TLC this afternoon and just got teary eyed thinking that I was just in the hospital not too long ago experiencing child birth for the first time. What an amazing event in my life. From that moment when Addison was born, my love for a human being became immeasurable.
As of 2 days ago, Addison has started eating 4 oz of formula a day, which I think is helping her sleep longer at night. (lol....sometimes) She's much more attentive and loves to be held. I think I could hold her all day if I knew it wouldn't spoil her and my arms wouldn't give out. Addison has already taught me things in life that I didn't think I would ever do. My life has slowed down tremendously and I really take the time to appreciate the small things. I don't worry about things like I used to. Children can teach you amazing things.
I'm sure Jordan will read the blog at some point, and I want to take this opportunity to tell him that I love you so much and thank you for all of the support that you have given Addison and me these first 3 weeks. You are our rock! We love you!!!

2 Weeks Old
Yesterday Addison was officially 2 weeks old. Wow-time flies. She has changed so much in such a short period of time. We took her to her 2 week pediatrician appointment today to see how she's progressing and make sure everything is going well.
Addison now weighs 8lbs 10 oz (50%) , 21" long (75%), 13 7/8" head circumfrance (25%). So she's gained 7 oz and grown 1/2" in length.
Last night was a good night in our household. Addison did well sleeping in her own crib, again (3rd night). She woke up at 11:30 and then around 5:00. So needless to say, we got a little bit of sleep around her. Not every night goes that well, but with time we are shooting for it.
She is such a bundle of joy. She already is getting her little personality. She lets you know if she's got a dirty diaper. She hates to be wet at all. She's eating very well and taking well to the bottle. Our family is starting to get a routine, and I have to say we work pretty well together. Jordan is amazing. I do not know what I would do without him. He has hit the ball running as soon as she entered into this world. Thanks babe!!!!

Growing Like a Weed
You always hear people say how time flies before you realize how much your child has grown. I'm already realizing that, and Addison is only 13 days old. I look at pictures of her a week ago compared to now and she's already changing so much.
A lot of changes have occurred in our lives within the last few days.
I decided last week to change to from breast feeding to formula feeding. So everyone is adjusting to that. I have to say that we're getting more sleep around here, which was much needed. My sanity was about gone. Addison's little belly is getting used to it gradually, so we're taking each day at a time. Like I said, sleep has come a little easier. Last night was a milestone. Addison slept in her crib (not in our room in the pack n' play) and actually didn't get up but every 4 hours in between feedings. It was amazing. I think it was good for both mom and baby. We're still working on really getting her to understand her days and nights, but I think that should come with time.
We want to thank everyone to helping us within these first days at home. A special thanks to my mom for taking time off and being with me until this past Sunday. She was a life saver. I could not have done it without her. THANK YOU MOM!!!! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!! So when she left, Jordan and I were left without our training wheels. I think we've handled ourselves pretty well. I've definitely had to make a few phone calls to my sister in-law (pediatric nurse) on some questions/concerns.
As you could tell, I could go on and on. I'm sure I'll be one of those moms that could talk about their child until no one will listen, but I'm not going to bore you. I've attached a few photos to let you see what we've been doing these last few days.
