Rolling Over..the other way

This morning Addison rolled over from her back to her stomach. She has started a new thing where she plays with her toys while she lays on her side and likes to sleep on her side. So this morning she was chewing on hand on her side and she just decided to roll over on her belly.

4 Month Checkup

Sunday, August 23rd our baby girl turned 4 months old.

With her turning 4 months old, we had to take her to the doctor to get more immunization shots. Once we got to the office I took her out of her car seat so she could look around (she loves to see new things and people). From the time we walked in till she received her shots, she smiled at every lady in the office. She was so good and felt like the center of attention. I'm so glad that Addison is good in public. It definitely makes life a lot easier.

They did all of the normal stuff, like weighing and measuring. She's growing like a weed. It's amazing to see how much she has changed in 2 months. Below is her progress:

2 months 4 months
12 lbs 6.5 oz 15 lbs 5 oz (80% percentile)
23" long 25" long (75% percentile)
15 1/4" head 16" head (40% percentile)

Her are a few things that Addison is doing:
- Eating cereal at night
- Loves to kick and play in the bathtub water
- Talks (baby talk)
- Smiles a lot at herself in the mirror
- Loves for her Daddy to talk to her
- Rolling over when she wants to; would rather turn on her belly and ooch
- Loves to go shopping (huh Mom?)
- Wears size 2 diapers, 6 month clothes
- Chews on everything that she grabs

I could go on and on about our baby girl. She is the light of our lives and we feel so blessed to have a happy, healthy baby. God truly blessed our lives with a precious gift.

Church

Before church

After church

This morning everyone go ready for church, so I thought I'd capture Addison and me in our Sunday best. She did great in the nursery. When I went to go get her, she was just all smiles. I don't think she slept much (she normally takes a very long morning nap), so when we got home she went down for a 4 hour nap. Wow, church can really wear you out. Lol.

Cereal

Last night, we fed Addison her first bite of cereal. She did okay. She wasn't overly excited but not overly resistant either. She opened her mouth each time she saw the spoon. I mixed the cereal to where it was pretty runny, so she would kind of swallow a bit then use her tongue to swish it around in her mouth. I think next time (tonight) we'll try a little bit thicker and a little bit more. She did sleep till 6:30 this morning, so we're making progress. (We were starting to get up every morning at 3:30-4:00a because she was hungry). It was nice to sleep in a bit this morning.

Going for a ride

We got a carrier for Addison to sit in, because she loves to be held so she can look around. Spoiled, I guess you could say. So to save my back and make it easier on her to look around, we got a carrier for her. I know the carrier isn't hooked up correctly in the picture (still working on that), but I think she really likes it. I'm sure she'll enjoy it more once I figure out how to tighten it. I read the instructions and still cannot figure it out. One day.

What a weekend!

Addison in her bouncer, really concentrating

McKinney trade days
Sometimes you've just gotta find the best place to change her diaper

Favorite chewing toy

Both of them were so tickled

Thanks Randi for my other chewing toy

Bath time

What a weekend! This past Saturday, Katie (Jordan's sister) graduated from North Texas. Yeah Katie! We are so proud of you!

Since we went to the graduation, we decided that it would be best if Addison did not attend. I don't think that college graduation is her or my idea of fun! Therefore my mom came in Friday night to keep Addison while we were gone. My mom had the best time.

Once we got back from graduation, the girls went shopping. Addison did so well. It's times like those that make me wish my parents lived closer or vice versa. There's nothing like a mother-daughter relationship. I can only hope that Addison and I are as close as my mom and I are.

I've attached a few photos that have been accumulating since the last time I made a post.

Addison feeding herself...

Addison has started trying to push the bottle out of her mouth while I'm feeding her. I know you're probably thinking that it's because she's not hungry, but she starts from the beginning of the feeding till the end. The other day I finally just told her to hold the bottle herself and see if she could do it without my help. It stayed in her mouth with her holding it for about 3 seconds. Needless to say it didn't work. She is definitely going to be strong minded, I think.

Last night I was in the floor playing with Addison and she starting giggling. It was hilarious. She kept going on and on, but we only got a little bit of it on video. She thought she was so funny, and we thought she was so funny. She's starting to enjoy things that she used to not really pay attention to - like the tickling. She also now really enjoys when you get her legs and pretend like she's running really fast. She amazes us more and more every day. Life is grand isn't it?

Hope you enjoy MeeMaw and Granddaddy!!!

Rolling Over: Caught on Tape

So I finally got Addison rolling over on camera. Sorry it's such a short video, but I had to cut it down to get it to hurry and email. The whole point it that you get to see her turn over. She's doing a great job at it. I still don't think she realizes what she's doing. It'll be interesting to see what happens when she learns she can do it all the time and get places she never thought possible.

Visit to East Texas

First smile caught on camera by Mom

Nana (great, great grandmother) and Addison

Addison and her Granddaddy

This past weekend, we loaded up the car and went to New Boston to see my family. They are always so excited when we come home. My Nana really enjoys getting to see her grandchildren, so it's always fun to go see her. We had a great time. Addison rolled over for her Grandaddy and MeeMaw. They were so proud. Of course, Addison had to wear her John Deere tractor onesie to see her Grandaddy at the farm. Thanks Mom and Dad for a relaxing weekend and letting us sleep in.
