23rd is "THE DAY"

As most of you know, we were supposed to be checked in tonight to begin thinning out the cervix in preparation of the induction tomorrow.

Well, we went to the perin and OB today to see how things are progressing. The OB checked me and said that I was at 3cm and 75% effaced, so there was no need to check in tonight. Therefore, we'll be admitting ourselves tomorrow at 6:00a. Yipee! It's going to be great to be able to sleep in my own bed one more night. Then the perin said that the fluid looks great and that everything looks like it's a go.

When the OB was checking me, she noticed that I was having a contraction. She said "you're having a contraction." Really....I had no idea. So the times that I have been uncomfortable in the past were really contractions and I just took them for being gas or something. Nice to know that's what they were.

So with that, we will get to welcome Addison into our family tomorrow sometime. We'll try to update the blog with pictures asap!

She's Almost Here

Well unless she comes today, we will just have to wait till I'm induced on Thursday.  This week has started to wear on me.  Not being able to sleep, big belly, harder to breath, etc.  Needless to say, I'm ready to see Miss Addison.  Scared out of my mind, but just have to remember that the Lord is in control.  My type A personality is going to have to let go and just let the doctors/nurses do their thing.

We go to get a sonogram and see the OB tomorrow afternoon, so we'll see how we're doing.  We're looking to be admitted into the hospital tomorrow evening around 9:00p, and they will start the  process of inducing on Thursday.  Since Jordan and I are new at this, we are just going with the flow.

I think we've got everything together.  If not, we'll just deal with it.  Today is my last day at work for 8 weeks, so I should have time to blog more often and give everyone updates more frequently.  We're going to try our best and get a picture of Addison up on the blog asap, but no promises.

Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during these next few days.  Thanks!

38 Weeks....Counting Down

When to see all of my doctors today regarding the pregnancy, so we've got some exciting updates.

First we went to the perin. This visit they measured her to check out her weight. Addison is weighing in at 7 lbs 1 oz (sounds like a heavy weight match up, huh?). Her lungs, heart, etc. looks great. Heart rate was 131 beats/min. Overall, they are very pleased. I'm pleased with the weight, because as of 2 weeks ago, we were aiming for a 8 1/2 lb baby by next week. With this measurement, we're looking more around 7 1/2 lbs. Yipee! My hips are probably even more excited.

Next, onto the OB. She said that I was 2 cm dialated and 50% effaced, so I've made progress but not a lot. With that, she decided that we should just go ahead and schedule an induction date in case she doesn't come within the next week. So I am scheduled to be admitted into the hospital next Wednesday evening, so they can start the process of thinning out my cervix. From there, they will start induction on Thursday morning. FINALLY!!!! We have a date. Therefore, we should have Miss Addison in our arms on Thursday, April 23rd. I'll keep you posted if it comes before then.

Finally, the endo. Blood sugars are looking great and they are really pleased with how the pregnancy has gone. I was given the instructions on what to do when I go into labor and contacting them, etc. They seem very laid back and know exactly what they are doing. My endo is on call during my scheduled induction, so that makes me feel a lot more at ease.

Overall, we had an exciting day! It's amazing to know that we will get to welcome Addison into our family in less than a week. (I have a countdown on the mirror in our bathroom)

Thanks again to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We are blessed to have such great friends and family.

Text Message Groups

So with Miss Addison's birth upon us, Jordan and I decided we better make sure we have everything ready to go to get the news out to friends and family about labor and birth announcement.  So on Friday, Jordan put little groups together in his phone to send out a mass text message.  One group is me going  into labor and the other is the birth announcement.  With that being said, I want to apologize if we don't have your name on the list.  We looked over it many times, but we may have forgotten somebody accidentally.  So please don't get your feelings hurt, because we tried our best.

By the way, hope everyone had a blessed Easter.  What a wonderful time of the year to remind us that God sent his son to die for our sins so that we may have eternal life.  None of us know when our time on earth will end, so if you read this blog, know that God loves you and he wants you to believe in him and have faith in him so that you may have eternal life.

Thursday's Doctor Visits

Last Thursday, Jordan and I went to the OB and peri (shortened for perinatologist).

We first went to the OB and she checked to see if I had made any progress with dilation, etc.  No luck there.  Miss Addison is in my belly to stay for now.  She is in no hurry to come out and join us.  So with that being said, the OB said that we needed to come back next week and see if anything had progressed.  She said that if we don't have any progress, she will not let me go to my due date (April 30th).  Therefore, she said that most likely if Addison doesn't come naturally then we will either induce or C-section on April 23rd or 24th depending on all kinds of things.  I have to say, I'm hoping for the 23rd instead of the 24th.  Sorry Ryan (cousin's B Day).  Jordan and I thought I would have made some progress or would  have a date sooner than that, but that was a big fat no.  Kind of disappointed, but had to stop and think about how important it is for her to stay in there to make sure her lungs are mature and ready for the outside world.  She now comes 1st.

Then onto the perin.  They did a sonogram, and it showed that everything looks really good.  Her heart rate was at 131 and the fluid, etc. looked great.  They didn't measure her to see how much she weighed since we just did that the week before.  So on Wednesday, we'll find out approximately how  much she weighs.  I have a feeling she's going to be a chunker with little fat rolls on her legs.

Overall we had 2 great doctor visits and now we just wait patiently (yeah right).

Help! Looking for Photographer

I wanted to post a question to anyone that may read our blog.

Do  you know of anyone that takes great baby/family pictures?  I want to get pictures of Addison by herself and some with Jordan and me with her, but haven't gotten a lot of referrals to great photographers in the area.  I would really like someone that is good at black and whites.

Birth Announcements

Sample of Announcement

A few weeks ago, a lady at church told me to go ahead and order my announcements envelopes.  This way if I got put on bed rest, then I would have something to do while bored to death.  Well, luckily I have not had to do that yet, however I went ahead and ordered them.

To all those soon to be moms out there, go ahead and get them before your shower so you can just address them as your addressing your thank you notes.  This way you don't miss anybody that gave you a shower gift.
