Addison: 14 Months

Our baby girl turned 14 months on Wednesday. It seems like yesterday, we giving her first feeding of cereal. Where does time go? We are having so much with Miss Addison these days. She keeps us entertained and on our toes. Here is what she is up to:

  • Walking but only by herself when she wants to (I think we'll be there very, very soon)
  • Doesn't like to eat fruits or vegetables (we have to sneak them in her food)
  • Loves carbs (grilled cheese, raisin bread)
  • When she wants something she can't reach, she yells "Mommaaaaaa"
  • Loves to "Go Find Daddy"
  • Yells very loudly when she is down eating and wants down from her highchair (we're working on that one, it's getting better)
  • Loves to be outside, swim, read books
  • Watches Disney Channel and Nick Jr (ok, I know it's bad but sometimes it helps when she's in a bad mood)
  • Wears 4.5 size shoes
  • Loves to play with our iPhones, remotes, anything electronic
  • Hides every time she hears the bathtub water come on (she hides in her closet, thinks it's funny when I come find her)
  • Favorite comfort toy: bunny
  • 7 teeth and counting
Anyways, I could go on and on. We love this little girl and her little personality. She's going to be hard headed (determined) but want you close for comfort. What a blessing. Thank you Lord for choosing us to be Addison's parents. We have learned so much about ourselves and life with her. We look forward to her future. May we teach her the word of the Lord and show her his grace in our home and through our daily lives. We love you Addison Lea.

16 Weeks

How Far Along: 16 Weeks
Size of baby: 4 1/2 inches long, 3 1/2 ounces (size of an avacado)
Maternity Clothes: Still wearing regular clothes
Gender: Reveal July 9th
Movement: I think so but still a little unsure. May be gas bubbles
What I miss: Not having headaches.
Symptoms: Headaches
Cravings: Cereal

I had an OB and Endo appointment yesterday. I think I saw the OB for about 5 minutes. She found the heartbeat, asked how everything was going and if I had questions, and then we were done. For some reason I always get excited to go see the OB, and of course I get let down in the beginning of the pregnancy. There's just not a lot to do until the end of the pregnancy. It does melt my heart every time though to hear the baby's heartbeat. It's so comforting. Protective Momma already. As far as the Endo, so far so good. We made a few adjustments, which we'll continue to do until the pregnancy is done. I think with one particular adjustment, it'll keep me from getting a low blood sugar in the middle of the night and allow me to sleep. Yipee!!!!

Getting Into Things

Fell in the tub and bumped my forehead

Addison has started thinking that she's a big girl and she needs to discover all that is around her. Of course, this leads to accidents. I'm sure there are many more to come.

#1 Dad

I know a lot of women out there say that their husbands are the best fathers to their children, but I think mine is the best! What a great Daddy to our baby girl. He sacrifices so much for her and is such the protective Dad already. He worries more about her than me. Every time that he walks in a room, she lights up and yells Daddy. She's a Daddy's girl and thinks he hung the moon (so do I). We are so blessed to have you, Jordan as the Christian leader of our home. For God has blessed Addison and myself by choosing us to be the women in your life.

We are so proud of you! You always bring a smile to our faces and have a heart of gold. Thank you for loving us sacrificially.

Daddy & Addison
Jordan takes her under the water falls and she loves it.

"I love to get into things on my Daddy's chair"

She loves looking at pictures on our iPhones

"Uncle Rene: I need a car. I think I'm ready"

Memorial Day Weekend

Our family had the best Memorial Day weekend. We got up Saturday morning and filled up Addison's baby pool on the back porch hoping that the water would warm up by the afternoon. Well, she saw us outside with the water and wanted to "help." She absolutely loves to be outside and in water. After the pool was filled up, she decided to check out the water and see what it was all about.

Still in her pajamas, minus the pants

Taste pretty good. "I think the temperature is just right"

Clapping

Trying to push the side of the pool down to let the water out

Saturday afternoon we filled the pool back up and put her in her little swimsuit (thanks Kate). She hates to wear the hat, so it didn't last long.

Monday we headed over to Jordan's parents (Coach and Gingy) to swim in their pool. This was Addison's first big pool experience. We didn't get hardly any pictures and the ones we got were not very good quality. I've decided I've got to get a lot better at getting pictures of our baby girl and her experiences. We cooked out and had the best time. She loved the water. It's nice to just hang out with the family without having plans or being in a rush.

Future Bird Watcher

Jordan bought a bird feeder in the spring since Addison loves to look out the window all the time. She loves it. We have birds all day long. They range from cardinals, finches, etc. Any time she sees a bird, she yells out bird and heads over to the window.

Little Momma in Training

If Addison hears me in the kitchen, she hurries her little tail to come and see what's going on. She loves to "help" with the dishwasher. Any time it's open, she pulls out every piece of silverware and throws it on the floor. We're working on putting it back in the dishwasher. She loves to push her baby stroller around the house. It's so cute. She's already practicing to be a little Mommie, but I keep telling her she needs to be at least 25 before she even thinks about kids.

Blogging Grade: F

Okay, I'm giving myself an F as far as my grade for blogging. I have many things that I need to blog about but so many reasons why it does get done:

  1. Don't want to get on a computer at home after being on one all day
  2. Our computer at home takes way too long to download pictures off of our camera
  3. I want to spend time with Addison and Jordan with the free time I do get
  4. Tired: pregnancy will do it to you (even though I think it's getting better now that I'm almost done with the 1st trimester)
So with all the excuses in the world, I thought it's better to blog with no pictures than not at all.

Pregnancy:
This pregnancy has gone pretty well so far, but it's been a little bit different than with Addison. I've been getting tension headaches every day. No sure why? We've got quite a bit going on right now with the family (read below), so maybe that has something to do with it. Oh, and how could I forget. Hungry all the time and my clothes are starting to get snug. Before I found out we were pregnant I weighed 12 lbs less than I did when I got pregnant with Addison. I was so excited cause then I had more room to grow than last time. Well, I guess my body heard me and started right away. I have gained 10 lbs in 3 months. Whew! Time to slow down. I'm sure glad the pool is open now and I can get some exercise that way.
We have our next appointments on June 24th. We go see the OB and the Endo. Talking about changes from the first one, my diabetes has been a little bit harder to figure out. We've been working on it for about 3 weeks now, and I think we're about to get it figured out. I'm sure as soon as we do, my body will change again.
We have an appointment set for July 9th with the Perinatologist to find out the sex of the baby. Of course, everyone wants it to be a boy but I'm good with just a healthy little baby. I know God already had it planned out, so we'll see what he thinks the next member of our family will be.

Addison
She is growing like a weed. She is so much fun and the majority of the time in a really good mood. She has learned how to throw mini fits. She tightens up her upper body and grips her hands real tight and gets red in the face. It's hard not to laugh. When you tell her no when she's throwing a little fit she does a fake cry and stops and looks to see if you're watching. It's not cute when you're in Target though. I have pictures of her and what all she's been up to coming soon.
